Position Summary  

 

As the Head of Medical Education and Affairs within our Global Medical, Regulatory, and Scientific Unit team, you will play a pivotal role in driving science-based nutrition information and education initiatives among healthcare professionals. This includes engaging global Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), experts, academic societies, and researchers. Additionally, you will lead the digital outreach of this information through various digital channels of medical communication. You will guide and support country affiliate medical teams in their educational activities and events. Your scientific expertise will be utilized across a wide range of global medical affairs activities, including data generation, analysis and interpretation, publications, medical communication, training, information, safety assessment, congress strategy, and KOL management.

A Day in the Life of a Head of Medical Education and Affairs

 

  • Lead and advance digital footprint of Nestle Nutrition Institute (NNI) and the Wyeth Nutrition Science Center (WNSC) with global healthcare audiences through information, communication, and education initiatives.            
  • Foster relationship with global NNI scientific councils, global experts and academic associations to support advocacy on nutrition science.     
  • Strengthen relationships with medical societies through continued engagement encompassing educational initiatives, participation of global and regional events.            
  • Broaden reach of globally driven NNI and WNSC scientific publications.            
  • Ensure code of conduct compliance of all NNI and WNSC center-driven activities and ensure proper guidance for compliance to markets for local/regional activities.
  • Build, motivate and support a high-performance team with clearly aligned goals and objectives.    
  • Partner and collaborate with other Nestle entities (e.g., Nestle Research, Nestle Health Science) to further leverage NNI/WNSC platform/benefits.
  • Guide markets affiliate medical teams for local data generation initiatives, medical training, and safety assessment.

 

What will make you successful

 

  • University degree in Medicine (MD preferred), post graduate Clinical Nutrition, or equivalent.
  • Strong background and general knowledge of clinical pediatrics and clinical nutrition.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience of which at least 5 years within a corporate medical affairs function in a senior leadership position.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing medical education programs, medical conferences, and scientific events for healthcare professionals.
  • Strong understanding of nutrition research and research translation, research publications and editing skills.
  • Excellent capabilities of communication, networking and managing collaborations with external scientific bodies, associations, and scientific experts.
  • Influencing skills through building strong scientific argumentation.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and managing individuals, diverse teams and creating a sustainable high-performance culture.
  • Fluent in English.
